Hi Manish,

I would like to try this 21 days plan but have some queries about the food to be eaten -

1) For gluten free, is it ok to have chapatis of jowar, bajra or other millets?

2) What do you mean by "eat cooked and then cold rice" ?

Hi Vaibhav,

1. Please check individual grains for their gluten content on the internet.

2. Cook the rice and then put it in the fridge say for 2 hrs and then eat them with a meal. Hot rice has more simple starch but cooked and then cooled rice have that starch converted into resistant starch which is better for gut bacteria.

Thanks Manish. About resistant starch - I read a nutritionist's comment that after cooking and cooling the rice once, its ok to re-heat it before eating. This will not affect the resistant starch. Do you agree with the re-heating part or you feel it should be eaten cold / room temperature only? I prefer to eat warm rice hence asking :)

Also, I think resistant starch gets formed in cooked and cooled potatoes too.

Hi Manish,

Thank you for the detailed newsletter!

Do we have to eliminate whey as well? Does monkfruit also kill good bacteria in our gut?

Hi Siddharth,

This will not be my priority as it is outside of Active Human's 6 pillars of well-being.

Hi Manish,

Thank you for this amazing news letter. I have a few questions:

1. Would it be wise to eliminate dairy products like Curd & Paneer as well ? Doctors often suggest tablets containing Lacto bacillus (a good gut bacteria, also found in Curd) along with antibiotics to counteract their sides effects. What do you think ?

2. Can you elaborate a little on the expectations viz-a-v the number of days ? I would want to know what to expect from this protocol, in 7 days, in 14 days & then in 21 days.

Again, thanks for the amazing newsletter.

Hi Zubeen,

1. Yes, curd and paneer also need to be eliminated for 21 days.

2. No comments on the doctor giving lactobacillus with antibiotics. Are you on antibiotics right now?

3. On expectation, Everyone's gut status is different, some have heavy pathogens and some are much healthier. Some results will be less bloating, better digestion, and better bowel movement and it will reflect on skin health too. not sure about 7, 14, and 21 days wise as it's very subjective.

For people who have heavy pathogens, they may face hair fall when these pathogens die and leave toxins, it is called die-off symptoms (google it) but that also settles in 4-5 days as the body clears the released toxins.

Hope this helps,

Thank you.

Sure, thanks. Quick q: if we already know what type of food causes inflammation. So rather then doing this whole exercise, can we just take tablets (moringa and Neem) on empty stomach in morning ?
